Upper-level art students at Lewiston-Porter High School had the opportunity to work directly with four professional local artists this winter. Ceramic artist Junko McGee, Matthew SaGurney and Rob Lynch of Solo Roths, as well as artist and curator Dana Murray Tyrrell provided Lew-Port students with an inside perspective of their professional art-making practices through multiple artist workshops.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced state parks, historic sites, campgrounds and trails operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation saw a record 84.1 million visits in 2023. Total visits statewide surged by nearly 4.7 million, a 6% increase, compared to the previous record year in 2022.

The Mental Health Association in Niagara County will host a meat raffle fundraiser on Saturday, March 23, at the St. Johnsburg Firehall, 7165 Ward Road, North Tonawanda. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with the first round starting at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds from the sales will go toward programming and services for those living with a mental health diagnosis in Niagara County.
