Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced a Niagara County jury returned a guilty verdict in the murder case against Marchello M. Gildersleeve, age 43, of Niagara Falls, this afternoon. Gildersleeve was found guilty of murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in the slaying of 35-year-old Daniella Patterson in December of 2022 in Niagara Falls.

Seaman stated: “This defendant opened fire from close range, killing a young woman while she sat defenseless in a car. He continued to fire at the victim as the car drove off. This killing was cold-blooded and deserves an extremely harsh sentence, which we will ask the judge to impose at sentencing.”

The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney Mattie Davis.

Gildersleeve faces as much as 40 years to life in prison when he returns to court to be sentenced by County Court Judge Caroline Wojtaszek on Aug. 30.
