Signature fundraiser will feature tastings, live music, chef demo and more

“Sweet Expectations” to benefit FeedMore WNY is back on from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, with what organizers called “an unforgettable evening of tastings, live music, a chef demonstration and amazing auction prizes. Presented by Wegmans and James Desiderio Inc., the event will be held at a breathtaking and historic venue, The Show at Shea’s Seneca, located at 2188 Seneca St., in Buffalo.”

Guests can enjoy a variety of sweet and savory offerings from nearly 20 local vendors. Chef Audrey Zybala of Sweet Pea Bakery will lead demonstrations decorating micro cakes with meringue and fruit compote. While guests munch and mingle, they will have the opportunity to participate in raffles and bid on auction items including signed Josh Allen memorabilia, a full suite package for a MLB Cleveland Guardians game, wine and liquor packages, tech items and more.

Tickets are $75 per person or $150 each for VIP. VIP admission includes early access to the event and auction as well an exclusive complementary tasting. Open bar is included in both general and VIP admission. “Sweet Expectations” is an age-21-and-older event. Tickets and more information can be found at www.feedmorewny.org/sweet-expectations-2024.

Proceeds from “Sweet Expectations” will benefit FeedMore WNY as it continues to provide nutritious food and support to food insecure community members of all ages throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. In 2023, FeedMore WNY provided enough food for approximately 16.9 million meals throughout its service area.

“Food insecurity exists in every community throughout our four-county service area,” said Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY. “Unfortunately, the need for food assistance only continues to grow, especially among some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Last year, the number of children who rely on FeedMore WNY increased nearly 20%, while the number of older adults who receive assistance from FeedMore rose by 35%. The ‘Sweet Expectations’ fundraiser is so important because it enables us to continue our vital programs and services. We hope everyone is able to attend this event to enjoy an evening of food and festivities while supporting our community members in need.”

In addition to presenting sponsors Wegmans and James Desiderio Inc., “Sweet Expectations” is made possible through a variety of individuals and sponsors, including diamond sponsors Tops Friendly Markets and Vogt Sprinkler Service Inc.

FeedMore WNY “offers dignity, hope and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship and skills training to its Western New York neighbors in need. Through its food bank distribution center and partner hunger-relief agencies, as well as its home-delivered meal program, other targeted feeding programs and RISE workforce development training, FeedMore WNY alleviates hunger and assists community members of all ages throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties.” More information can be found at www.feedmorewny.org.
