Sugar Ray soared to popularity with their breakthrough 1997 hit "Fly," reaching the top of the Billboard Airplay chart. In 1999, the band released the album “14:59,” which featured two more feel-good anthems, “Every Morning,” and "Someday," both of which charted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart that year. Subsequent hit singles included “When It’s Over,” and Sugar Ray’s take on the 1980s hit “Is She Really Going Out with Him.”

Tonic released its debut album, “Lemon Parade,” in 1996. Their first hit single, 1997’s “If You Could Only See,” reached No. 11 on the Billboard Airplay Hot 100 and made the band a staple on the alternative and post-grunge radio airwaves. Tonic received two Grammy nominations after the release of the album “Head on Straight” in 2002. The included the hit single “Take Me As I Am.”

Sugar Ray and Tonic have both continued to tour and draw sold-out crowds of excited fans at venues across the country.

Modern English brings iconic '80s sound to Bear’s Den Showroom

The iconic sounds of one of music’s most enduring decades will come alive for two incredible nights this September at the Bear’s Den Showroom inside Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. Legendary 1980s band Modern English, known for their smash hit “I Melt With You,” will take the stage at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Sept. 12-13.

Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, June 14, and start at $45

Modern English emerged as one of the most popular bands of the 1980s new wave genre. Their debut album, 1981’s "Mesh & Lace," has become a post-punk classic. In 1982, the band released “After the Snow,” which included "I Melt with You," and became a household name. “I Melt with You” has been a staple on U.S. radio for decades, boasting over 7 million plays, and its video was a mainstay on MTV during the network’s early days.

Over the years, Modern English released numerous albums, including "Take Me to the Trees" in 2017 and "1,2,3,4" in 2023. The band is highly regarded as post-punk pioneers, with its music continually discovered by new generations and emerging artists who cite Modern English as a major influence.
