PHOTOS: Upward Niagara Chamber & Fashion Outlets welcome Cinnabon

The Upward Niagara Chamber of Commerce and Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA teamed Friday to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming the newest member of the mall’s food court: Cinnabon.

Guests on hand to welcome the world-renowned pastry purveyor included Town of Niagara Supervisor Sylvia Virtuoso, Councilman Johnny Parks, Niagara County Legislator Christopher McKimmie, and Matthew Mosher from New York State Sen. Rob Ortt’s office.

Cinnabon is the second Fashion Outlets eatery operated by V&J Holding Companies Inc., following Auntie Anne’s, which debuted in 2008.

Fashion Outlets General Manager John Doran welcomed V&J company President Dr. Valerie Daniels-Carter and her colleagues, President of Operations John “J.D.” Draper and Ashley Nest.

“Success is built on relationships, and we're very proud of the relationship we've built with V&J Foods over the last 16 years,” Doran said.

Upward Niagara Chamber President Jennifer Pauly said, “Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA is a member of the Chamber and active in the Town of Niagara. We are always excited to celebrate businesses that bring something new to the area.”

She added, “What an exciting opportunity for the mall to have a company look to expand! We appreciate everyone taking the time out of their morning to celebrate!”

The first 100 guests were treated to a complimentary “MiniBon” roll.

Cinnabon describes its signature pastry as soft, sweet dough filled with Indonesian cassia tree Makara cinnamon, and covered in a smooth, trademarked “Ooey-Gooey” cream cheese frosting.

The company stated, “Founded in Seattle in 1985 and now based in Atlanta, Cinnabon is the market leader among cinnamon roll bakeries. The company serves fresh, aromatic, oven-hot cinnamon rolls, as well as a variety of other baked goods and specialty beverages. As of June 25, 2023, Cinnabon had more than 1,850 locations worldwide, primarily in high-traffic venues such as shopping malls, airports, train stations, travel plazas, entertainment centers and military establishments.”
